Qaiser Mastana was a reputable name of the Lahore film industry as fight instructor and action stuntman who choreographed action sequences (primarily fight action as fight instructor) for over 500 films, with Zarrar and Sawal 700 Crore Dollar Ka being his last two projects.

 

 

Qaiser Mastana was born in 1956 at Lahore and after his preliminary education came into the world of moving images. From very young age attracted by glamorous life of film studios so landed in the film industry. Started his career as an extra but afterward drifted into action and fight choreography in way back 1976. By virtue of his hard work and devotion soon he became a trust worthy fight instructor for film directors. Specializing in the direction of stunts and action sequences, Qaiser Mastana

remained a reputable name of the Lahore film industry for the past 40 years. He choreographed action sequences for over 500 films, with Zarrar and Sawaal 700 Crore Dollar Ka being his last two projects. Majority of the stunt instructors today are students of Mastana. Originally hailing from Lahore, Mastana had moved to Karachi following the crisis of the industry but had recently returned to his hometown for work.

 

Personal Life

Qaiser Mastana, after landing in film industry he got married and was blessed with two sons and one daughter.

 

Demise of the Artist

On May 16, 2016 at film set of Zarrar which is being directed by Shaan Shahid, when Mastana complained of chest pain and lied down to take some rest. As the shoot was still under way, the crew observed that Mastana was not still well so they advised him to go home in the morning at 4 am and he went back to his house. According to his fellow choreographer and friend, Manzoor Musafir , Mastana was not feeling well when he returned home but he was planning on going back to the sets following his morning prayers. He also revealed that Mastana had been experiencing health issues for the past six months and had been advised to take a break from work for detailed medical checkup. Mastana breathed his last after returning from Fajr prayers on May 17, 2016. His funeral prayers were performed at Shah Farid graveyard on on same day. Qaiser Mastan is survived by two sons, a daughter and his widow.
