Personal Life

Next film which was released by United Players Corporation was Sweetheart (Qatil Katar). For heroine of the film, A. R. Kardar casted two dancing girls of Lahore Dancing Bazar, Sardar Akhtar and Bahar Akhtar. Bahar Akhtar played the role of heroine whereas Sardar Akhtar acted as vamp of the film. It is interested to mention here that during the shooting of the film which lasted for fourteen days at Shalamar Garden and remaining shooting was scheduled at the tomb of Asif Jah, A. R. Kardar developed affection with Bahar Akhtar. During the shooting A. R. Kardar took Bahar Akhtar to one of his friend at Sheikhupura and this episode was terminated into their marriage which was not openly revealed. Subsequently, Sardar Akhtar sister of Bahar Akhtar, who was in knowledge of the story informed her parents so guardians of Bahar Akhtar launched kidnapping case against A. R. Kardar in the court but it was bounced back when she gave her confessional statement in the favour of A. R. Kardar and court rejected the case and he was unconfined. After release A. R. Kardar stopped the filming of Sweetheart (Qatil Katar) which was almost completed and burnt all the negatives of the film as heroine being his wife. On the other hand the guardians of his wife created an unavoidable environment for A. R. Kardar so he closed the United Players Corporation film company and sold the complete equipment and shifted to Bombay along with his wife. It was A. R. Kardar’s second marriage, his first marriage was an arranged and his first wife was from an honorable family of Waan Radharam, a village situated 60 miles from Lahore.
