A. Riaz

(1939 – 29 January 2012)
Senior film director A. Riaz died on January 29, 2012 in Jinnah Hospital, Lahore where he was admitted on ailment of his disorder kidneys. As regard to his career he joined Director Luqman’s production group in 1956 at Pancholi Art Studios just at the age of fifteen. Afterward, he assisted Director Anwar Kamal Pasha in Do Ansoo, Sufaid Khoon, Anar Kali, Chan Mahi, Laila Majnu etc. as his Assistant Director. Once he started his career as film director he kept his name as A. Riaz as Riaz Shahid and Riaz Ahmed Raju were already present as film director, he directed Ghayal (not released), Sheran Di Jori, Seyyan, Qatil Te Mafroor, Ashiq Log Sodai, Chhad Burey Di Yari, Comando Action, Tesri Duniya and his last film was Had Haram (Not Released). He left behind a widow, five daughters and two sons in 2012.
