Bahar Ali

 

Former playback film singer and musician Syed Bahar Ali died on January 21, 2014 due to heart attack and was laid to rest in Miani Sahib Graveyard at Lahore while a large number of people from the showbiz world attended the funeral. For films his number of songs are limited and his most popular film song was O Farzana, jan e jana, abb mil karen ge hum rozana from Sangeeta’s film Mian Bivi Razi which was released on January 29th, 1982 and music was composed by Kamal Ahmed.

Bahar Ali was suffering from heart problems for a long time which became the main cause of the demise of the singer. Among the mourners were singer Anwar Rafi, Nisar Butt, Ijaz Lohar, Rafique Tahir, Inayat Hazarvi, Sajid Ali, Sher Muhammad Lohar, Ghulam Ali, film director Malik Saleem. Hundreds of people from all walks of life also attended the funeral and stayed at the graveyard until the singer’s body was laid to rest.

It has been learned that Bahar Ali, who passed away amid a massive heart attack, was already suffering from heart problems for quite a long time. It is very tragic that for the last three years, Syed Bahar Ali was trying to seek financial aid from the government for which, he had submitted numerous written requests.

However, the poor playback singer of the past neither received any financial support nor could he get any compensation from the Artists’ Support Fund. Eventually, he suffered a massive heart attack two days ago and though he was rushed to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology; the hospital authorities pronounced him dead after an hour or so. Meanwhile, the Singers’ Association of Pakistan has expressed deep regret over both; the singer’s tragic death.
