Pheray was not only the first Punjabi films but it was also the first Silver Jubilee film of Pakistan. This film was re-make of Director Nazir´s Indian Urdu/Hindi film Gaoun Ki Gori (Noor Jahan and Nazir played a lead role in the film) which was released in 1946. Pheray also proved to be a big musical hit, the Music Director Baba G. A. Chishti wrote, composed all six songs of this film in a one day which a proved that how big musician he was.
Pheray was released in Palace cinema Lahore where it completed its twenty five weeks.
Inayat Hussain Bhatti debut his film career in this movie.
