Rohi Bano

Veteran actress Roohi Bano was attacked by her late son’s friend on 27 April 2015 in her houes at Defence Lahore. She was shifted to Services Hospital for treatment and later discharged after being treated for minor injuries. According to the hospital sources, her condition was stated to be out of danger. According to SHO Gulberg in her statement Rohi said that her son Ali’s friend Israr approached her at house and asked Rohi Bano to sell her house to him. Upon refusal, he hurled harsh words and threatened her of dire consequences. Afterward, he got infuriated and attacked Rohi with a sharp edged weapon.Police have registered a case and started conducting raids to arrest the attacker.

Humayun Saeed got injured

Renowned TV/Film actor Humayun Saeed sustained injuries in a collision between van and speeding double-decker in the Thai capital on Sunday. Humayun was there to fine out the locations for his new assignment. At the time of accident he was in search of some hotel just after he landed there. His van driver was reversing when it was hit by a double-decker approaching at full throttle. Humayun was sitting in the front seat, was asleep when his van was hit, reportedly experiencing the most injuries. He was accompanied by his wife Samina, daughter and the crew of his upcoming untitled film, who suffered minor injuries. Among the film’s crew were its co-producer Shahzad Nasib and director Nadeem Baig..

He was not well for last few days finally he had heart attack and was evacuated to private hospital, Jail road, Lahore but took his last breath at the end. Aslam Dar Passed Away

According to his son Usman Dar, Aslam Dar suddenly had high blood pressure on 24 December 2015 and he was evacuated to Behria Town Hospital where in spite of all out efforts by the doctors finally he died on the same date. His funeral was held at Behria Grand Mosque on 25 December 2015.

Tribute to Sangeeta

To pay tribute to Actress turned director Sangeeta was held at Al-Hamra Hall which was organized by Asian Cultural Association of Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by a large number of showbiz personalities including Habib, Aslam Dar, Syed Noor, Arshad Waraich, Joni Malik, Mian Rashid Farzand, Imran Hussaini, Sohail Hussaini, Qaiser Sanaullah Khan, Nadeem Pehalwan, Tariq Malik, Durdana Rehman, javed Raza and Fayaz khan. Every speaker came on the set appricaiated Sangeeta for her sound grip on acting and film direction skills. At the end while giving her responding speech, Sangeeta desired that at the time of her death her Janaza should be taken to film studio which made her Sangeeta from Parveen. Senior journalist Tufail Dada hosted the tribute ceremony.

Zil-e-Huma passed away

Zil-e-Huma the daughter of renowned singer Noor Jahan, passed away on May 16, 2015 at the age of seventy. Zil-e-Huma was shifted from Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi to Lahore and admitted in local hospital where she was receiving medical treatment. Previously her foot fingers were amputated now her leg was under question. She was suffering from heat and kidneys problem but with passage of each she her health condition was deteriorated and finally she was placed on ventilator.Read more»

The first ever IMAX cinema of Lahore city was inaugurated by MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on June 27, 2015. The inaugural function was attended by Fiza Ali, Shaan, Syed Noor, Shahzad Gul, Sajjad Gul, Jahanzeb Baig, Nadeem Mandviwala, Sh. Abid Rashid, Nasir Ismail and many more. After the Inaugural ceremony, Hollywood film Transformers was projected which was enjoyed and appreciated by all and declared it as another step ahead in the betterment of cinema in Pakistan.

Renowned film journalist and historian Yasin Gorija’s 8th death anniversary was celebrated at Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture on December 26, 2013. The program was organized by his lifetime companion Tufail Akhtar Dada, Sughra Sadaf (PILAC) and Rana Naveed Ahmed. Aizaz Ahmed Azer performed the duties of stage secretary of the tribute ceremony. Writer Pervez Kaleem, Actress Bahar, Bushra Rehman (Writer, columnist and politician), Baba Muhammad Yahya Khan, Pervez Rahi, Almas Bobby, Tufail Akhtar paid their humble tribute to one of the pioneers of film Journalism in Pakistan.
